If you want to pick the mushrooms, you'd better call this information center the day before you go, so that you won't waste your time on traveling for 3 hours to get there and get nothing.
The staff were super helpful, providing maps and giving insight into the area as well as anecdotal information about fossicking. We hired panning gear and went out to one of the free dig fossicking areas that had been pointed out.
